Cosmos specializes in antique textiles. All of our pieces are hand-picked from estate sales, auctions, and markets all over the world. Our current collection includes small accent pillows to large oversized floor pillows. We dye and construct all pillows by hand in Brooklyn. Our inventory exceeds what is shown online and our collection is constantly changing.

I am a product designer, maker, and textile collector.  I draw inspiration from fellow craftspeople and builders around the world who transform simple resources into beautiful and practical designs. I created cosmos to revive the lost craftsmanship of the past while creating new objects with a meaningful history.

Prior to Cosmos, I spent 15 years contributing to a range of brands and designers, including Martha Stewart, BDDW, The Food Network, and Dakota Jackson.  My work is featured in the book Dish, a compilation of female product designers.

Cosmos is a textile company created by Sarah Unruh. Defined as "an orderly, harmonious universe," the name cosmos embodies our philosophy to achieve order and harmony through design. The first collection is a series of one-of-a-kind decorative pillows.

Antique Linens
Each pillow is constructed from antique linens selected for their lustrous hand and classic beauty. Sourced from around the world, many of the linens are over 100 years old and represent some of the finest and most imaginative damask patterns of their time. They include an array of motifs, from Provencal, Egyptian, and Greek, to ornate florals and botanicals.

We are proud to present the timeless beauty of these impeccable heirloom linens. By re-purposing them, the integrity of the original pieces is preserved, and they find a place in the modern home.

Harmonious Color Palette
Our color palette is inspired by floral, earthy, and marine tones and reflects an impulse towards harmony.
These subtle hues are carefully selected to enhance the luster in the weave and accentuate the details in the patterns.

Constructed by Hand
The linens are hand-dyed, constructed and sewn in Brooklyn, New York. The high-quality cotton and cotton/linen blends yield a softness that is rarely found today.

Custom Orders Available
Each pillow has a dye lot identification label that can be referenced for orders of the same color. Custom dye-lots can be created on orders over 6 pieces.
